THE FIRST RACE OF THE BRAND NEW YEAR

The Run For Books is a fundraising 5k/10k run or walk at Marr Land Trail for our Simi Valley Public Library.
This race began in 2006 with 12 brave souls (brave because it was FREEZING COLD AND WINDY) but year after year the weather has been better and better (thank you Mother Nature).
We are so proud to announce that in 2010 we SMASHED our 2009 donations!

Thank you to EVERYONE that contributed to this very worthwhile cause. Now we can help the Simi Valley Public Library update their Health and Fitness section.
We will be hosting this event every year, so mark your calendars and BE THERE to show your support (and give yourself a super start to the New Year).

This race was created to support the Rancho Simi Trail Blazers!
They are a VOLUNTEER GROUP that takes care of our incredible (and beautiful) trails. You can read more about them and even join their efforts at
The Rocky Peak Trail is considered "difficult". It is 5.6 Miles (round trip). You will get THE MOST BREATHTAKING view of Simi Valley when you get to THE TOP.
We have a photographer waiting for you to prove "YES, I DID IT"!
DONATION GOAL:
Heck, let's try and beat the Run For Books! $1201.
Dogs: OK, but they must be able to mingle with people and other dogs. Must be on leash. Please bring waste pick up bags and water.
You will earn a FINISHER MEDAL.
This race is NOT COMPETITIVE but we will be issuing Race Number Bibs and tracking times.

2010's race will include THE BANDITO - a 1.25 Mile Race for kids!
